Amazing iPhone Tips And Tricks To Get The Most From Your Device

The truth is almost everyone these days has an iPhone. If you do not have some type of smart phone in your pocket then you are seriously behind technologically speaking. It's time to upgrade that old phone and learn about why you should choose an iPhone when you make this decision.

If you've gotten your iPhone wet, refrain from turning it on. Use a towel to dry it, and then put it in a sealed plastic bag of dry, white rice. Let it sit overnight. If it's dry the next morning, turn it on, and you just may find it working again.
With the iPhone you can quickly take pictures on your phone. Once you slide to unlock the phone, hit the camera app on the lock screen and open it up to use the camera. This feature makes it easy to quickly take pictures and never miss out on a memory.
There is a simple way to delete a lot of text when typing on your iPhone. Start by holding down the delete key. It starts to delete words letter-by-letter and then it will start deleting word-by-word. Holding down this button will help you delete everything on the screen much quicker.
There is a real nifty trick for using your iPhone headphone to handle your calls easily. The mouthpiece actually doubles as another button. If you are using your headphones and receive a call, just pinch the button. This lets you answer the call. If you click the button, you can send the caller to your voice mail.
For typing messages on your iPhone, you can enable or disable the auto correct feature. This feature will change a word that you type wrong while entering a text message to a friend or family member to the most logical word that it should be. If you do not want this feature you can simply take it off in Settings->General->Keyboard section.
When typing in a web address to visit a page, sometimes you may not know the domain name ending. Even if you do, there is a way to get it in the address bar faster. In the iPhone world, this is very helpful. All you do is hold down the.com button in order to see different domain name endings. You can then choose from the list.
If you have your iPhone in hand and happen upon that once in a lifetime pictures, you can take it without unlocking your phone. Simply tap the home button twice while your phone is still locked. You will see a few icons, and one of them will be your camera icon. Take your picture and it will instantly be saved to your phone.
You can navigate the Internet on your iPhone the same as you would on a laptop. When you find an image you want to keep, simply tap it and hold. A menu will pop up, giving you the option to save the image to the Camera Roll. You can also send it to someone in a message.
A good tip if you're new to using the iPhone is to learn about the built in video recorder. A lot of people don't even know that their iPhone is capable of recording videos, which is pretty sad. A lot of users submitted videos on YouTube are straight from someone's iPhone.
Do you need to mark an important email for later? Tap it and choose 'mark as unread'. This email will then appear as a new message. This is a good way to remind yourself to check an email again, for instance, if you need to download an attached file or call a phone number later.
Don't go overboard when installing new apps. There are many apps available for the iPhone; some free, some for a fee. But some are very shady and will actually take your information or send you hidden charges.
With all of the features available to the iPhone there should be no doubt as to why this phone is a must buy. Invest into a superior phone today, and live a more comfortable life tomorrow. If you don't you'll essentially be left back in the stone ages with the old device you're carrying around.

Increase Your Smartphone's Battery Life

Turn off your location services. If you really need GPS service, all you have to do is just to turn on the location services again.

The phone can automatically update the mobile application you have downloaded and what actually happens in the battery life passively, without you noticing. Be sure to disable the automatic updates and update your same mobile applications downloaded if necessary.

You must enable auto - brightness not to waste electricity when you are in areas with low light and does not need a lot of back light of the phone. Alternatively, you can choose to back light intensity of your smartphone at a low level.

Trending Cell Phone Accessories

Around the world, millions and millions of people own cell phones, but there are only so many models available! If you want yours to look different, you have to make it stand out from the crowd. For this reason, you'll want to buy a protective case that reflects your personality and tells people whose phone it is. Of course, this case has to protect the phone from scratches, or from dropping it, but there are many options to choose from which successfully perform both functions.

Silicone skins are a great way to give your phone a distinctive look. They come in many patterns, from the basic single tone look to flashier patterns with multiple colours. They make it easy to get a firm grip on your phone, but they are sleek and take up hardly any space. Your phone won't get scratched when it's in one of these. It provides decent protection in case you accidentally drop it, and all for an extremely affordable price. This is popular among the younger cell phone users, but it's appropriate for anybody.
Snap on covers are clear, plastic cases that fit right on. They're sleek, inexpensive, and they show the cell phone for what it is. They protect well against scratches, and it's especially good should your cell phone take an accidental tumble.
Getting a leather case is another smart way to protect and stylize your phone. They take up a little more space, but the material is considerably more luxurious than silicone. It protects your phone faithfully, and it is a more formal way to dress up your phone, though it fits into any casual environment, too. Many of the leather cases clip onto your belt, so it's a smart, simple, and safe way to transport your phone.
Holsters are another smart way to carry your phone. Because it clips onto your belt, it doesn't come in a wild variety of colours. This is more about carrying your phone smartly than dressing it up, but it's an efficient way to transport your phone because it allows you quick access on the go. Your phone can be rotated 90 degrees, so you can check it without taking it out of its holster. Stylistically speaking, people will hardly see anything but the phone, so it is more about function than showing off any distinct style. But still, it looks professional and sleek, and someone very well might still buy it for the way it looks.
As the cell phone has become used for too many reasons to name, they have come to look different too. In other words, the personalization of the device isn't only taking place at the level of functionality, but aesthetically too. Something so crucial to operating our daily lives must be protected with a case, and it's not surprising that so many stylistic options are available, running the gamut from kids to professionals, and allowing the user to bring some of himself to the look of the phone.

3 Self Defense Accessories For Your iPhone

3 Self Defense Accessories For Your iPhone

The Famous Knucklecase
I say famous because once such an accessory gets into the hands of celebrities like Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Megan Fox, it simply cannot have a lower status. It's basically an iPhone bumper with knuckles on one side.
The original Knucklecase is made out of aluminum, making it highly resilient. However, don't think "violence" because its makers state it was designed as an iPhone handle and nothing more. Should you decide to do anything else with it, is entirely your own responsibility.
The Knucklecase doesn't come very cheap. The iPhone 4 & 4s compatible versions cost from 39 to 49$ and the 5 & 5s versions are in the 120-125$ range.
The Yellow Jacket
If the Knucklecase doesn't really seem like an effective self-defense solution (unless you have some training in that matter) wait 'till you see the Yellow Jacket. It's a 650.000 volts stun gun that can at least stop your offender temporarily and allow you to run for your life or you can use that power to give your phone a full recharge.
The Yellow Jacket is not some fancy accessory, so it comes with a pretty comprehensive manual and online tutorials are provided for correct use. Should you decide to give it a try know that the Yellow Jacket adds some serious weight to your iPhone. It's a hate it or love it kind of situation.
Also, putting it together to fit your iPhone is not an easy task, requiring a bit of strength and a lot of patience. Priced at 99$, the Yellow Jacket is currently available in multiple colors for iPhone 4 & 4s, with new models compatible for iPhone 5 & 5s as well as Samsung Galaxy scheduled to arrive soon.
SmartGuard
Another option to weaponize your iPhone is adding a pepper spray to it. SmartGuard is a case holding a small canister of pepper spray, which you can quickly release and use when you're in a bad situation.
The spray can go as far as 5 feet, irritating your attacker's eyes, skin and respiratory system. It's less violent than the Yellow Jacket, but probably more effective at debilitating someone. The canister is very easy to remove and place back in the case so as long as you have your phone in handy you'll get to use it within just a few seconds.
Sure you could get a regular pepper spray, but this one has another advantage, besindes being able to carry it attached to your phone: it looks harmless enough so your attacker will probably be clueless until you spray him with the 10% Oleoresin Capsicum solution.
SmartGuard is available for 35$, in several colors on the SabreRed website.

Battery Tips for Your IOS7

Battery Tips for Your IOS7

                     Battery Tips for Your IOS7

"Curse you iOS7!" as my fumble hands seek for an outlet to resuscitate my iPhone5. This post may be a little dated. I have purposely waited. I was hoping a new update, tip, SOMETHING would solve the short lifespan of my battery. I am working on acceptance that ever since Steve Jobs passed away (RIP my genius) Apple went to hell in a hand basket (something my mother would say). However, I can be quiet no longer. I have tried every "tip" out there, only to be stuck, usually in the middle of nowhere (which is anywhere without an outlet) with no battery, no phone, no lifeline. This post of rage will go over the obvious battery saving features, in case you have not tried them. I, for one, have not found these to be the answer. But we all must start somewhere, so here it goes.
1. Do Less-Battery-Intensive Things
Really? Yes this is one of the suggestions touted by tech writers everywhere. Why even have an iPhone? But, if you limit talking time on the phone (not cool), movies, games and web browsing, it will help. in addition, limit battery -intensive apps (more on the worse apps for battery life later this week).
2. Turn off Equalizer
In case you failed to notice, the music app has an equalizer which will adjust bass, treble, etc. By turning this off, your music experience may suffer, but you will save battery life. When I first read this I thought "no way"! Then I went to check my settings. I didn't have it on anyway, so there ya go!
Find it in Settings -> Music -> EQ -> Tap off
3. Turn Bluetooth Off
We love our bluetooth, especially when driving, but it is a battery drainer. Turn off Bluetooth except when you're using it, this will help extend battery life.
Find it in Settings -> Bluetooth -> Move Slider to Off
4. Turn Off 4G/LTE
How happy were we when we heard LTE was coming? Needless to say, all good deeds do not go unpunished. Not surprisingly, using 4G LTE, requires more battery life. I know this is a difficult, but if use 3G ( you know what we could not wait to get away from) it will help your battery life. Even downsizing from LTE to 4G will help. Of course you will need your battery since everything takes twice as long.
Find it in Settings -> General -> Cellular -> Slide Enable LTE to Off on the iPhone 5 or newer.
5. Keep Wi-Fi Off
Wi-Fi is another type of high-speed network that your iPhone can connect to. It is faster than 3G but you are limited to where there is a hotspot. As with the bluetooth, keeping the Wi-Fi on with the hopes of finding a hotspot will drain your battery. Have it on only when you are using it. Just don't forget, or your data plan will skyrocket.
Find it in Settings -> WiFi -> Slide to Off
6. Turn Off Location Services
A very nice feature of the iOS7 is a built-in Gps. But of course, it drains the battery. Shutting it off can be a hassle when you need it quickly, but, it will save battery life.
Find it in Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> Slide to Off
7. Prevent auto update of Apps.
iOS7 will automatically update your apps for you. This is a great feature that will lessen battery life. Yep, do it manually.
Settings -> iTunes & App Store -> Updates -> move slider to off/white
8. Turn Data Push Off
Sorry, no more convenience of having everything there for you when you pick up your phone. Reduce how often your phone connects to the network to save your battery.
Find it in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> Fetch New Data -> Slide to Off
9. Fetch Email Less Often
This is related to the above tip. Once your data push is set to off, limit your obsessive checking of email. ( I am referring to myself here).
I know, I know--why have a smartphone if we have to limit our compulsion to check email. I agree.
Find it in Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> Fetch New Data -> Select Your Preference
10. Turn on Auto-Brightness
Find it in the Settings app -> Brightness & Wallpaper -> Auto-Brightness On.
11. Reduce Screen Brightness
Taking it a step further you can control how bright the screen will go with this slider. Of course, the less bright the less drain. Sigh, now where is my flashlight when I need it.
12. Stop Motion
iOS7 has an interesting feature creating a parallax effect. It is very subtle. If you look at your apps when moving your iPhone, they will appear to move separate from each other, as if on different planes. Of course this feature takes from your battery life.
Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Reduce Motion -> move slider to green/on
13. No more Dynamic Backgrounds
Another neat feature introduced in iOS 7 is wallpaper that moves underneath your app icons. It is located in the Wallpapers & Backgrounds menu. No need to change it unless you added the dynamic background. The default is off. Find it in the Settings app -> Brightness & Wallpaper
10. Prevent Background App Refresh (iOS 7)
Although I appreciate iOS7 refreshing my apps when needed, it also sucks your battery! So, although nice to have it is best to turn it off.
Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh -> Either disable the Background app totally or just for certain apps.
11. Quicker Auto-Lock
Time for sleep baby: naptime can come quicker for you iPhone, which will help battery life. This just hurts me to wait an extra second. But, I hate the dead battery blues.
Find it in Settings -> General -> Auto-Lock -> Tap your Preference
12. Buy an Extended Life Battery
If all else fails, just get more battery. A few accessory makers like mophie and Kensington offer extended life batteries for the iPhone.
I may be taking the last suggestion. I feel as in if I have tried everything and my iPhone is becoming unreliable. I have invested in many new chargers; never travel to non-outlet areas, (you would be amazed at what I will do to find an outlet and to what length), yet still I find myself without my phone. I have another tip, maybe another phone! But I do like apple products... or used to.
P.S. I have been punished for his post- now my camera isn't working!! Curse you again iOS7!!!!!
